Hi All,
We’ve recently received word from Paul in Australia who has taken a stock Paratrooper and modified it for an upcoming trip to Japan. Paul has created the ultimate travel/trekking bike by adding a full rack and pannier system, lights, and fenders to our signature folding Paratrooper frame. The result is an incredibly capable bike that is ready for pretty much any scenario.
Awesome job Paul!
We hope to receive more images of this unique bike in action as Paul’s trip goes underway.
Do you have any update on the journey ? Any blog posts so far ? I’m trying to mod my Paratrooper and bring it on a long touring journey, any helpful tips regarding compatible touring parts would be appreciated. Thanks for sharing.
Cool. I have been looking for such a rack for the Paratrooper for a long time. What is the brand and name of the rack? Can you still fold the bike without problems?
Hey Dirk,
I’m not sure what model that rack is, but I’ve heard about several Montague riders having success with the Axiom Uni-Fit racks for our bikes. With the position of the vertical supports and the width of the rack, there is very little interference with folding. You could really mount any rear rack on our bikes, you just need to connect the front of the rack to the seat tube, as the seat stays are a bit low and don’t have mounts. Problem Solvers makes some clamps that provide extra connection points on the seat tube.
