One of our dealers up in Ontario, Canada, Troy Mitchell at the Mobile Bike Shop, has partnered with the Canadian Automobile Association of South Central Ontario (CAASCO to those in the know) to provide a unique service to cyclists in the area.
For the past couple of years, CAASCO has been offering a Bike Assist program to its members. If you’ve ever been stuck at the side of the road with a flat tire, or other mechanical problem and you’re a member, you can just give them a call and they’ll send someone out (they say within 45 minutes of the call) to repair your bike, or if not easily repairable, give you (and your bike) a ride home.
And with the help of a Montague folding bike, the Mobile Bike Shop is taking things one step further. With a repair kit that he tows behind the bike, Troy is hitting the road to help cyclists on his bike.
But with this kit, he can do a lot more than fix a flat or repair a busted chain. He can also help you out if your car battery dies (he’s got a booster), need a car tire filled up (he’s got a pump for that), or locked your keys in your car. And everything fits neatly in the trailer and can be towed behind the bike. The bike program isn’t up and running just yet, but if you live in south central Ontario, keep an eye out for it in the coming months!
Do you have any cool business plans with or for your folding bike? Doing something already? Do you live in an area with a roadside bike assist program? How do you think that impacts people’s decision to ride instead of drive?
Nice post! Thanks!
