Another update from the road. A guest post today from Mireia and Alex, our friends touring the Americas with 2 Montague Bikes:
After leaving Chicago on the infamous Route 66 and driving through the heartland of America, we decided to deviate and enter Utah. And what a beautiful state it is. We visited the city of Moab, which is an amazing area for 4×4, mountain biking, and hiking! A perfect place to visit with a Montague bike. As we love these three activities, we decided to spend a full 2 days there.
We did a hike of 5 hours through the Arches National Park, then biked for several hours on the legendary Slickrock Bike Trail. The Montague X50, and X70 folding mountain bikes handled the terrain wonderfully. While a few sections were difficult for riders of our ability, we took it as a challenge. Experienced mountain bikers could really go nuts here.
The best part of riding Slickrock is the amazing views that surround you on all sides. You can see for miles as you’re treated to views of rolling mountains, deep canyons, and rock formations that appear to be straight from a watercolor painting. After our ride we folded our bikes, stashed them in the Land Cruiser, and hit the 4×4 trail for a few hours.
After Moab, we visited the other state parks Utah has to offer, Bryce Canyon and Zion. Next we traveled on to Las Vegas, although no posting about that. What’s that saying…”What happens in Vegas…”
Anyway, now were on to California… Los Angeles, San Francisco (and everything in between), here we come! We’ll certainly be enjoying our Montague bikes more in the Golden State, so keep an eye out for more updates!
