Suspension with Lockout
Why a Folding Bike?
Folding bikes fit your lifestyle. Having the ability to fold your bike into a compact package in seconds allows you to store it easily in the home or office, and travel anywhere with your bike. It can fit in the car trunk, on the bus or train, and is perfect for your next trip.
Why Montague?
We set out to create the highest performance folding bikes in the world. All Montague bikes use full-size wheels, standard components, and a folding design that doesn’t break any of the frame’s tubing. Our focus has always been on perfecting ride quality, handling, and comfort.
RackStand
US forces found the bikes ideal for moving quietly and without using scarce fuel. Word spread throughout the world’s tightly knit military community.”
When I took the bike for a 5-mile off-road spin on Long Island, it handled fantastically whether climbing hills (the 27 gears came in handy), jumping ditches, coasting down steep slopes, or grinding through thick mud. It performs on pavement, too, especially when its suspension lock is engaged and the shock-absorbing front fork stays steady.
At first glance you might not think this 26-inch frame could fold into a 36 x 28 x 12–inch bundle, and it takes less than half a minute and just two lever flips.”
Currently, they are deployed in the US, Middle East and Europe and are ideal for patrolling, security, rapid response and jumping.”

So glad I chose this bike! It’s an amazing mountain bike with a strong frame that holds up on any kind of trail in any kind of weather. The lockout feature on the suspension fork was the deciding factor for me between the Paratrooper and the Pro.

What an incredible machine! Literally am looking for any excuse to ride. The convenience of being able to fold in half is worth every penny. Very light weight, handles like a dream, stops on a dime and keeps this ridiculously looking smile on my face whenever I accelerate. Very fast off the line. Very happy to be living a healthy lifestyle thanks to all the fun I continue to have with the Paratrooper Pro. Highly recommend!

Superbike! For traveling (workhome) it is a bit heavy but that’s all, putting in and out the front wheel is a thing to practice but one you learned it it is easy!

I’ve had my bike for almost 4 years now and have taken it with me around the world to Copenhagen, Shanghai, Taiwan, and Istanbul, and besides the obvious of it being MUCH easier to travel with (e.g., throw it in the back of my small Golf and drive out to the mountains to bike), it’s only recently had any small drivetrain issues, and that’s due to me falling over on the trails a few too many times! Overall it’s a very reliable and easy-to-maintain bike. When I use it to commute I ride with the suspension locked so it’s almost as fast and easy to ride as a commuter bike, and then I just pack it up and bring it into my office for ease. I only wish this model came with a rear rack back when I bought it!
Some tips:
-Grab some affordable folding pedals off of amazon for the complete folding package
-Get some mudguards if you’re going off-trail

I’ve had a Paratrooper since 2007 and I can’t say enough how much I’ve loved that bike. Due to the quality craftsmanship it is still a great bike but I decided I want to upgrade with new bells and whistles in the Paratrooper Pro. It was a good decision. The new DirectConnect latch creates a solid connection and makes folding faster than ever. It gives the bike a clean, sharp look with the flat black finish. The new folding engineering is tremendous and meets the high standards that have been the hallmark of Montague from the beginning. I really wanted to try the RackStand and it’s ingenious. I’ve just started getting out and enjoying my new bike but I know I’ll have a great time on it for many years to come. Once you order your Montague folding bike you’ll wonder how you got by without one before.

My wife bought me the Paratrooper Pro as a gift. Very impressive! It gives an amazing ride with a very stiff frame and there is no compromise because it folds. I’ve become very fast folding and unfolding it and the ease of transporting it in my car makes my choice to use it a no brainer. She hit a homerun with this gift!

I bought two Paratrooper Pros to fit in my plane. I wanted something that would be good on rugged terrain but also could ride into towns with smoother roads. The suspension fork with lock-out handles all of it very well. What I didn’t expect was that I love it so much that I use it as an excuse to go mountain biking much more than before. These are world-class bikes!

I rode a Paratrooper and a Pro at a shop in the city before buying from them (NYCeWheels in NY). The Pro is definitely the better bike for riding on road. I wanted suspension and wide tires so I could do off-road trails but also something that was a sort of hybrid. I think the fork and especially the tires make this bike pretty good for both. It rolls nicer on pavement than the original Paratrooper. The rack is a really cool feature but I usually take it off if I’m going into the woods (it can come off when you open the wheel quick release).

Amazing, fun ride! Durable build and easy to fold. Definitely recommend.

Excellent bike! I’ve had the Pro since last spring and have tested it on trails across northern New England. The great strength in the frame allows it to cover any terrain. It rides better than my old non-folding mountain bike.

Bought July 2015 and it’s been a BEAST in every way, changed wheel set to 700C Tires and now it’s a road rocket too, 1 item covered by lifetime warranty all in all a great investment, LOOK OUT PEEPS MATTE BLACK PRO Coming down the road…

I’ve had mine since 2013 and can say this is one tough machine that has never let me down. The folding capacity is superb, and it can take the abuse, at 85kg I’m on the heavier side add a child or pack on the rack and we can be 100kg fully loader but the steal frame can take that with ease. The tire set is also well suited for the suburban jungle, just the simple ability to be able to go out when it looks like its going to rain but still share a cab home because you can just fold your bike in seconds and throw it in the trunk of a taxi has saved me many a time. I did upgraded the original spec, adding hydraulic disk brakes and decor sifters, The new breaks are outstanding and probably required given the way I use the bike often in an urban setting where stopping on a dime is some times required. The bike is also on the heavy side this turns hauling it around airports or train stations folded with all your gear a serious strength workout, so you want to avoid having to move it once folded. I would also say the saddle is one of the most comfortable one I have had and well suited for the heavier set rider. Detachable or folding peddles also valuable addon

I bought a second-hand Paratrooper Pro (2016 model) recently from a local Montague (Malaysia) dealer. Everything else except the frame was brand new. The bike was solid, easy to use and handles well. My only wish was that the weight of the bike could be lighter (as compared to my friends’ lighter non-foldable MTB). Overall, it is a good bike that serves my need for easy transport and portability

I’ve owned a Paratrooper Pro since 2016. I bought the bike to go with my new-to-me plane. The bike fits great in the back of the plane, and it is perfect for getting around once I land. I was surprised at how well this bike performs, and its every bit as good as a solid frame bike, but it folds up. It took some practice to get the hang of folding and unfolding quickly, but now its a snap. I’ve added fold-up pedals just to narrow the bike a little more, and I replaced the handlebar grips to a set with more palm support to make the bike more comfortable. Every where I go I get complements.

Bought my Montague Pro in 2015. Bike is incredible. I bought a CycleOps attachment for it and now I can ride it in the house whenever I want to!
