Urban
The Urban is a folding bike with standard 700c wheels that delivers road performance on a budget. A 21-speed Shimano drivetrain provides ample gearing for hilly roads while wide 35mm tires cushion the ride over rough terrain and potholes.
The patented RackStand offers cargo carrying capacity and has a built in fender, acts as a kickstand, and serves as a stand for the folded bike.

Why a Folding Bike?
Folding bikes fit your lifestyle. Having the ability to fold your bike into a compact package in seconds allows you to store it easily in the home or office, and travel anywhere with your bike. It can fit in the car trunk, on the bus or train, and is perfect for your next trip.
Why Montague?
We set out to create the highest performance folding bikes in the world. All Montague bikes use full-size wheels, standard components, and a folding design that doesn’t break any of the frame’s tubing. Our focus has always been on perfecting ride quality, handling, and comfort.
RackStand
The Urban is equipped with RackStand, a traditional cargo rack, fender, kickstand, workstand, and folded bike stand all in one.
“The Montague Urban has full-size 700C wheels, and can fold without any breaks in the frame’s tubing. It does this by swivelling around the seat tube, and doesn’t require the handlebars to fold down either.
Bonus features include a RackStand that is a luggage carrier, rear mudguard, kickstand and workstand all in one. Oh, and 21-speed Shimano gearing is very welcome.
A great bet for those wanting to store their bike indoors, or pop it in a car boot.”
Lightweight
The simplicity of the Boston makes it the lightest bike in Montague’s line. Easier for storage, faster for riding.

I’m very pleased with my purchase and recommend it to anyone. It is a super ride on both trails and around town and I love the rack for running errands. Sharp looking bike but when I fold and unfold it, that really gets attention!

I purchased my Urban in the summer of 2016 and it is perfect for the bikeways near my house. The rackstand is easy to release and swing under the wheel and the entire bike stores in practically no space in my garage. Ease of use definitely gives me incentive to get out use it more.

Fabulous bike! Smooth shifting and a comfortable seat. I live in a hilly area and the 21-speeds are more than adequate. Quick release of front wheel and clamp on the post make folding a cinch. It feels very secure and stable while riding.

RackStand is one of the coolest new bike things I’ve seen in a while. It’s worth going for the Urban over the Crosstown just for that. Montague says the bike is ready to ride out of the box but I’m far from being a mechanic so I brought it to my local shop just to be sure everything was perfect. They were not a Montague dealer and the shop owner seemed pretty impressed by the bike. That was a good sign. I commute to work on it most days and do about 5 miles each way. I sometimes do longer rides on the weekends and it’s been a great bike for both.

My Urban arrived in good condition thanks to excellent packaging. Very easy to set up and removing the tire and folding it is quick to learn. I use it for commuting and it is great to take in the office and have it save from thieves and out of the weather. It is very well made and and an all around reliable bike.

Extremely satisfied with the Urban! I love that it is super quality, comfortable and covers all my needs in a bike perfectly. I tend to use it for more casual riding with friends on the weekends. It was highly gratifying to pull it out of the back of my car and see their reactions when I unfolded it the first time (and then had to repeat it a few times). The process is very straightforward and quick. Looking forward to more adventures on my Urban.

I’ve been using my Urban primarily for combining train and bike travel for my commute. I especially like the Rackstand and picked up some good panniers to carry work stuff and some groceries. I’m looking forward to bringing it along on boat trips in the summer because I can pop it in the back of the car and tuck it into a corner on the boat. No space wasted!

The Urban has a superior folding system and is a very comfortable ride on dirt and pavement. I highly recommend this bike to anyone who wants a bike that can do many things very well.

We got our two Urbans last week and have been riding them every day. Wonderful bikes in every way. My husband is (or thinks he is) an expert on bikes, and has been really impressed by the quality and how they ride. Thanks, and I hope to update as we get more experience.

This is an amazing bike. As of posting the paint job is a beautiful navy, not the silver you might see above. Assembly wasn’t too much of a hassle, the trickiest part for me was tightening the handlebars correctly.
The folding mechanism is easy to use, and in the five months I’ve had the bike I’ve had no problems. It functions as something between a road bike and a hybrid. The 35mm tires are good on the roads, hard on gravel. If you want to size up the tires you will find the frame restricting as this bike was intended for *urban* use. Also the stock saddle is a wide commuter seat, if your used to narrow racing saddles be ready to change it out. The bike folds pretty compact and can fit into a car trunk, truck bed, bus bike rack (might wobble because of the thin wheels). The frame is lightweight, one occasion I was able to carry the folded bike into an elevator with no difficulty.
The gearing selection is really good, and the shifting performance is buttery smooth. This bike gives good speed if you work for it, I was able to get behind roadies for the draft with effort.
Now I will say that while the rackstand is a novel idea, its overrated and *overpriced*. I am very glad this model comes with one because man, that price tag sucks when for a regular bike an almost identical rack will cost you 1/4 of what this one will (currently its 120$ on the accessories page). I use panniers so its kind of a necessity for me. Also if you use it as a stand, be cautious of the quick release on the rear wheel because it will loosen the wheel with the act of turning the rackstand.
Quality bike. Would recommend. One day I might try out one of the mountain bikes.

I purchased an 21” frame Urban and have ridden it for 2 months. Made a few changes, swapped out the pedals, spd, put a 7”stem extender, and had to replace the cables as a result of the lengthened stem.(I’m 6-1) and the saddle. Also, swapped out the handle bar grips.
Really enjoying riding this bike. Very easy to work on.
Looking forward to 1st Amtrak trip.
No reservations, I would purchase again.
